UK WINE INDUSTRY KEEPS AHEAD OF THE GAME WITH SYMPOSIUM ON CROP PROTECTION IN VINEYARDS
The Crop Protection Symposium, arranged by the Association of Applied Biologists (AAB) in conjunction with the United Kingdom Vineyards Association took place at Plumpton College, Brighton on 2 March.
Speakers included overseas Professors: Andrew Landers from Cornell University, New York and Paolo Balsari from the University of Turin. Other speakers included Dr Kim Green (Research plant pathologist), Chris Foss (Head of Plumpton Wine Department), Viv Powell (Pesticide Specialist (HDC), Jude Bennison (Senior Research Entomologist) and Bob Lindo (UKVA Chair and MD Camel Valley Vineyards), who also chaired the conference.
Delegates were brought up to date with all the latest engineering and crop protection and research information. Said Bob Lindo: ‘This Symposium followed in a line of regular and successful UKVA conferences, which underscores our commitment both to ongoing education for our members and to the Environment. We are extremely grateful to the AAB for their contribution to a fantastic day’.
